Akhilesh Yadav's Facebook Account Suspended: The political atmosphere has heated up after the official Facebook account of Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav was suspended. This incident has created huge anger and dissatisfaction among the opposition parties. SP has called it an attack on democracy and claimed that this action is part of BJP's conspiracy. At the same time, government sources have made it clear that the government has no involvement in this and this is only an action taken under Facebook's community guidelines, which apply to all citizens as per the law of the country.
Akhilesh Yadav had around 80 lakh followers on his Facebook account. After the account is suspended, his supporters and party workers are not able to raise their voice on social media. SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand termed this action as an attack on democracy and wrote that BJP has imposed an undeclared emergency. At the same time, SP MLA Pooja Shukla said that Facebook closed the account without any warning, which is a conspiracy to suppress the voice of millions of people.
SP has demanded that Facebook immediately restore the account. The party alleges that this action has been taken at the behest of BJP. Recently, Akhilesh Yadav had raised questions on BSP chief Mayawati's praise of BJP, claiming that there could be an internal conspiracy involved in it. Apart from this, earlier SP had also accused the Election Commission of colluding with BJP. After the account was suspended, anger spread among the party workers, and they strongly condemned it on social media.
Government sources have completely rejected SP's allegations. A senior official said that the government has no interference in this. He said that suspending the account was done as per Facebook's intermediary guidelines, which apply to every citizen. The official clarified that the government did not interfere in any way in this action and it was completely Facebook's own rules and guidelines.
At present, no official statement has come from Facebook in this matter. SP alleges that the account was closed without warning. This matter has increased the anger in the opposition and SP workers are considering it as a big step against democracy. Political analysts are also seeing this as an attempt to put pressure on the opposition voice. This incident has made it clear that the activities of opposition leaders on social media are being monitored and political parties have become sensitive about the rules and guidelines of social media platforms.
